Tudor Board Repair and Replacement

Mississauga

Project Overview:
How Tudor Board Repair Transformed This Mississauga Home

Tudor Board Repair was the main goal for this client in Mississauga. This wasn’t their first time hiring Home Painters Toronto. In fact, it was their fourth project with us.

This time, the problem was rotting Tudor boards on the front, left, and right sides of the home. Some trims were too damaged to repair and needed to be replaced, while others required proper preparation and painting to restore both the look and durability of the home’s exterior.

Along with the Tudor board repair, the client also asked for a refresh of two bedrooms and one bathroom inside the home

The Challenge

Wood trim, especially on older Tudor-style homes, is prone to rotting over time. The client had already seen us successfully handle similar work at the back of the house two years earlier. This time, the rot had spread to the front and sides.

The main challenges included:

  • Rotting wood trim: About half of the Tudor boards were deteriorated and required replacement.
  • Colour change: The switch to a lighter exterior paint colour meant extra coats were needed for proper coverage.
  • Seasonal timing: Exterior painting has a short window in Ontario’s climate, so the work had to be completed promptly.
  • Protection: The home had gardens and a patio that needed extra care during prep and painting.

Despite these challenges, the team was confident in delivering high-quality results.

The Result

By the end of the project, the Tudor boards looked brand new, and the home’s exterior had a fresh, durable finish.

  • 11 rotted Tudor pieces were replaced, primed, and painted to match the home’s style.
  • Front, left, and right elevations received full prep and paint; two garage door frames were included; back door area received a focused touch-up.
  • Trim colours: Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace OC-65 on all wood trims; Sandy Hook Gray HC-108 on the side window trim.
  • Interior refresh: Bedrooms and bath repainted in Gray Owl 2137-60 and Serenata AF-535; trims in Simply White OC-117; ceilings in Super White OC-152.

The client was delighted with the outcome, especially since this was their fourth project with Home Painters Toronto. The before-and-after difference was striking, and the homeowner expressed how much they valued the team’s careful attention to detail.

BEFORE AND AFTER

Timeline & Outcome

The entire project took just over a week to complete. The team worked carefully, balancing speed with attention to detail, especially since an extra coat was needed on the lighter Tudor trims.

The client appreciated how respectful the crew was of their property. From carefully moving furniture inside to keeping the garden protected outside, every step was handled with care.

Most importantly, the homeowner was thrilled with the results, so much so that this marked their fourth completed project with Home Painters Toronto.
