Exterior Brick Staining and Trim Painting
Thornhill
Project Overview
Fiore had just moved into a new home in Thornhill. While the structure was solid, the exterior brick staining didn’t reflect the modern style Fiore envisioned. The biggest concern? The pink bricks that came with the house.
He wanted a sleek, updated look and fast. That’s where Home Painters Toronto stepped in. Our team was brought in to completely transform the home’s exterior with bold new colours and careful detailing.
Exterior Brick Staining and Trim Painting
The Challenge
The original brick colour clashed with the homeowner’s style and was hurting the overall curb appeal. On top of that, the wood siding and porch had aged and faded over time, while the trim, doors, and eaves needed a serious refresh. This wasn’t a straightforward paint job. There were multiple surfaces and finishes to consider. We had to:
- Safely stain over pink bricks without bleed-through.
- Avoid overspray in a residential area.
- Coordinate around tight spacing with neighboring homes.
- Protect all non-painted areas, furniture, and surroundings.
- Achieve a clean, professional finish on multiple materials (brick, wood, metal).
The Result
The transformation was dramatic. The bricks, now stained in Charcoal Slate (HC-178), gave the house a cooler, more modern tone. The trim, windows, and doors were painted in a sharp black finish, giving a bold contrast. The front porch and siding got a facelift too, using a semi-transparent English Walnut stain, restoring the natural warmth of the wood while maintaining a rustic-modern balance.
Curb appeal? Completely elevated. The house now stands out, in the best way. The homeowner was thrilled, and even the neighbours noticed. In fact, several referrals came directly from this one project.

BEFORE AND AFTER
Timeline & Outcome
The project was completed in just over a week. Great weather conditions allowed the crew to work smoothly across all surfaces. Despite multiple steps and surface types, everything stayed on schedule and on budget. Fiore was happy not just with the finished product, but with the care, professionalism, and respect the team showed his home.

This Thornhill project shows how thoughtful design and expert craftsmanship, especially in exterior brick staining, can bring a dated home into the modern era. Home Painters Toronto handled every surface with precision and care, delivering clean lines, rich tones, and a refreshed look the client and neighbours loved.
